Note helper

Type or say what happened. Get a clean draft note to paste. Fill the blanks, cut what did not happen. You review it, you own it.

Before you use Note helper

  1. This is a writing aid. It turns your own words into a draft note. It is not medical, legal or nursing advice.
  2. You review, edit and own the final note. Delete anything that did not happen. Chart only care you gave.
  3. Your hospital may not allow AI tools, even with no identifiers. Check your employer's policy first.
  4. Never type names, initials, room or bed numbers, MRN, birth dates or exact dates, or rare details.
  5. We do not save your note text. Our AI provider (OpenAI) may keep it up to 30 days for abuse checks, under its policy, and does not train on it.
  6. Not a HIPAA tool. No BAA. Free, as is, no guarantees. Terms of Use

How it works

1. Say what happened

One event or the whole shift. Quick buttons for vitals, pain, notifications. Times are yours: Now, 5 or 10 minutes ago.

2. Get a full draft

Your words become charting language. Steps nurses often chart for this kind of event show in yellow, with [blanks].

3. Check and copy

Fill each blank with ready words, tap โœ• on anything you did not do, copy plain text into your EHR.

What it will never do

Questions

Is it free?

Yes, while it is in beta. There is a daily limit so it stays free for everyone. If you hit it, come back tomorrow.

Can I put it on my home screen like an app?

Yes. iPhone: open this page in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. Android: Chrome menu, then Add to Home screen or Install app. It opens full screen, and your entries stay on your phone.

Who made this?

A med-surg RN with ten years of day shifts, the nurse behind shift is wild. Nurses in the comments asked for an app that helps with charting, so here it is. Tell us what to fix: [email protected].

What happens to what I type?

It goes to our AI provider (OpenAI) to write the draft and comes back to your phone. We do not save it. OpenAI may keep it up to 30 days for abuse checks and does not use it for training. Your entries stay in this browser on your phone until you clear them or 16 hours pass.

Can I use it at work?

Only if your employer allows it. Many hospitals restrict AI tools even when no patient details are typed. That is your call and your employer's rules, not ours.

Why are some lines yellow?

They are steps nurses often chart for this kind of event, written for you to check. If you did it, fill the blanks. If you did not, tap โœ• and it is gone. Nothing yellow is a fact until you keep it.

Is the wording backed by anything?

The style comes from our sourced charting notes: Before you sign an AI drafted nursing note and the ON THE STAND cards on what gets asked about weak chart phrases.
